Here’s a complete list of all the significant happenings in Pokemon Go during April.
It’s time to get back into the swing of things, Pokemon Go fans. The mobile game is wrapping up its Alola Season with a variety of events and activities throughout the next few weeks, including the appearance of Tapu Fini and the debut of Mega Legendary Pokemon. Here’s a rundown of all May’s biggest events in Pokemon Go.
May Research Breakthrough: Alolan Grimer
Starting May 1, Pokémon Go will provide a brand-new Research Breakthrough reward. Each time you complete a Research Breakthrough in May, you’ll have a chance to encounter an Alolan Grimer.
Field Research tasks reward you with research stamps that are tied to your breakthroughs. You’ll get one stamp for the first Field Research task you finish each day, and if you collect seven research stamps, you’ll achieve a Scientific Breakthrough.
May Spotlight Hours
Every Tuesday evening, Pokemon Go has a Spotlight Hour event. The game will highlight a specific Pokémon and bonus from 6 to 7 p.m. local time every Tuesday evening throughout the month of May:
May Raid Schedule
The island guardian Tapu Fini will make its debut in Pokemon Go when Landorus leaves five-star raids on May 3. From May 10 to May 25, the legendary creatures of the four islands will appear again for one last hurrah, at which point all four island guardians will return until June 1.
From May 2 to May 3, Kommo-O will be the exclusive Mega Raid monster. After it has rotated out of the rotation, which is expected to happen on May 4, Mega Latios and Mega Latias will be available in raids for the first time. The following month saw the arrival of Mega Blastoise and Mega Altaria, and you can see the full raid schedule below:

Pokemon Air Adventures
May is off to a good start with the release of Pokemon Go’s Air Adventures event, which will allow players to encounter the rare Mega Legendary Pokemon Mega Latias and Mega Latios for the first time. During the event, Pikachu in flight and other unique Pokemon will be more common, as well as eggs hatching at half the distance they normally take.
May Community Day
On May 21, the Android version of Pokemon Go will have its annual May Community Day event. This month’s featured Pokemon is Alolan Geodude, and if you can evolve it into Alolan Golem by the end of the event, it will learn to use the new rock-type Fast Attack Rollout.
In May, Niantic plans on running a few more events in conjunction with Pokemon Go’s Water Festival and “Alola to Alola” celebration. At a later date, more information about these occasions will be revealed.
